Quartz is the strongest commercially made countertop material on the market. While natural stone is even stronger, due to its forming process it may have inconsistencies, which makes it more prone to pits and cracks that require a sealer to be used annually as a preventative measure against bacteria growth.

Quartz countertops are made from fine quartz crystals held together by strong resin, making the surface non-porous. Once your countertops are polished and installed, you will not have to seal them again.

Natural stone tops like Marble, Granite, and Quartzite are porous and may have small pits and cracks making them more difficult to keep clean and bacteria free without constant clean-up and maintenance. Quartz tops have a smooth surface making them easier to keep clean and germ free.

When you select a quartz countertop pattern and color, you can rest assured knowing that your tops will be very consistent in color. Natural stone slabs on the other hand, even with the same name, can often vary considerably in color and pattern. It is much more difficult to match seams with natural selections than quartz.
